Fellows:

Sissy Georgakopoulou

Graduated in 2009 from the Civil Engineering department at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in Greece.  In 2015 acquired bachelor degree in Biomedical Sciences at the VU (Vrije Universiteit) in Amsterdam and in 2018 obtained ‘cum laude’ master degree in Neurosciences at the UvA (University of Amsterdam). At the AMC started PhD in ischemic stroke and particularly in the local effects of microthrombi on the microvasculature and the role of collaterals in reperfusion.

Keywords: Stroke, Micro-occlusions, Microcirculation

Praneeta Konduri

Received her Bachelors in Engineering degree in Biomedical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, India. She completed her MSc in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in Medical Physics, from Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. Her research involved developing a planning tool for left ventricular reconstruction in patients with severe ischemic cardiomyopathy. She is now pursuing her PhD focused on image analysis for ischemic stroke patients. She aims to build a library of intra-cranial and extra-cranial vessel geometries and an ischemic core atlas that can serve as input for virtual stroke population models and in silico clinical stroke trials.

Keywords: medical image analysis, acute ischemic stroke, biomedical engineering
